August 14 - 7 pm in the West Annex
The Owosso Community Players will host its first ‘Friday Night Live’ event on Friday August 14, 2009 at 7 pm. This evening of music and entertainment will take place at The West Annex, 114 W. Main St and will feature some of OCP’s finest youth alumni that are now either furthering their education in the fine arts or making their living in the arts.
Scheduled to perform is Chelsea Hartner, a 2008 Owosso High School graduate who is currently attending the University of Michigan, majoring in vocal performance. Chelsea was last seen on the OCP’s 2008 production of West Side Story where she played Maria.
Brent Smith, another 2008 OHS graduate, is no stranger to OCP, having performed in Grease as Sonny, Cinderella as the Prince and West Side Story as Bernardo. Brent now attends Hope University and recently traveled to South Africa where he performed with his college choral group.
Annelise Hoshal literally grew up on the OCP stage where she was involved in numerous productions over the year. This summer she added director to her resume, having taken the helm in Back to the 80’s. In the fall Annelise will travel to New York City where she will attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.
Graham Johnson graduated from Corunna High School and appeared in OCP’s 2003 production of Godspell. Graham is the lead singer of the group Stay Awake who has released their first album, ‘Paper Plates & Aeroplanes’.
Laura Bates is a 2008 Chesaning High School graduate that currently attends Michigan State University where she minors in Musical Theater. Laura is also a member of the MSU Women’s Glee Club. On the OCP stage Laura will be remembered as Portia, one of the stepsisters in Cinderella and Rosalia from last summers West Side Story.
Charity Smith is a 2009 Owosso High School graduate who plans to attend Lansing Community College in the fall where she plans to minor is theater. Charity has been in numerous OCP productions and can be most remembered as Rizzo in 2007’s Grease and most recently as Cyndi in Back to the 80’s.
Michael Windnagle will serve as host for the evening. Proceeds from the event will go toward purchasing a new keyboard.
